This year is no exception, with Cincy ranking as the second best defense in the nation per Kenpom, but their results tell a different story.

Do you think the two collapses are parallel or are they different?
PREVIEW: Louisville football hosts Cal for first ever matchup
By Derek DeBurger No. 15 Louisville will host the California Golden Bears for the first ever matchup between the two programs. In spite of having a winning record and a lot of promising young pieces, the Cal offense has been pretty pedestrian this season. The Golden Bears only average 24.6 points per game which ranks 89th nationally and is just barely less than the 25.1 points they give up a game. Their high water mark this season was 35 points against an FCS opponent.

J’Vonne Hadley had the same idea, sinking a long ball before converting on a fast-break layup to push the lead to 13-0 before SC State could even get a point. The Cardinal defense held them without a bucket or really even a decent chance of a shot until the 10-minute mark.

Here to give his take on the Cards’ first trip to Lane Stadium as members of the ACC is Sam Mostow, the co-Sports Editor of Collegiate Times. The Hokies have been in limbo since week 4 of this season after Brent Pry was fired. Obviously the players are playing harder since the interim was put in place, but how did your season expectations change after the move?
