What was your first job as a journalist?

I started my life in a print media as Roving Correspondence.

How is social media changing news?

Social media is not changing news, but spreading views of social media users. Rare is news, most are views nowadays.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Kishalay Bhattacharjee and Late Parag Kumar Das.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A soldier on a battlefield with a pen and camera instead of arms and ammunition.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer to look at the story to find what other media didn't notice in the story.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Pen, Notebook, Laptop and Camera.

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook and Twitter.

Why did you become a journalist?

I don't know why I joined Media and took the choice of journalism. I consider myself as a learner yet. To be a journalist... miles to go.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I wrote poems and stories in my High School Magazine.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Without field journalism, you can't be a real journalist, regardless of your degrees.

When's the best time to pitch you?

After 11 AM of Indian time.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

I have got the best pitch of insurgency in North East India.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I got injured in a bomb blast in 2004 in Tinsukia district of Assam(India) when I was in the position to capture the live blast of the bomb.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Playing Mobile Game.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I do prefer not to say.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Most journalists are confused about "Commander in Chief" and "Chief of the Staff of Military Wing".
