WAT-to-BAT communication facilitates the sustained activation of BAT thermogenesis during cold exposure
Abstract The activation of brown adipose tissue (BAT) for thermogenesis represents a crucial physiological mechanism that helps maintain body temperature during cold exposure. Nevertheless, the exact mechanisms underlying the sustained activation of BAT under cold conditions remain incompletely understood. In this study, we reveal that soluble ST2 (sST2) mediates a white adipose tissue (WAT)-to-BAT endocrine mechanism that is essential for the continuous activation of BAT during cold exposure.

Heteroanion induced structural asymmetricity centered on Ru sites switches the rate-determining step of acid water oxidation
Heteroanion induced structural asymmetricity centered on Ru sites switches the rate-determining step of acid water oxidation The exploration of Ir-free-based oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts is the key for electrolytic hydrogen production. Herein, a Se, S heteroanion modulation strategy is proposed to improve OER activity and stability of cationic Ru sites through induced structural asymmetricity.

Measurement Method for the Flight Parameters of a Small Flying Object Using a Multi-Dimensional LED Detection Array
1. Introduction Generally, investigations into protective materials often focus on how to reasonably and scientifically estimate the damage after impact of a small flying object (e.g., fragmentation, meteorite, hail, projectile, etc.) with a high velocity [1,2]. Accurately obtaining key parameters such as the hit position, flight speed, and attitude angle can provide some important references for improving the protective performance of the material [3].
Ru Cluster Incorporated NiMoO(P)4 Nanosheet Arrays as High‐Efficient Bifunctional Catalyst for Wind/Solar‐To‐Hydrogen Generation Systems
1 Introduction Water electrolysis hydrogen production has the advantages of cleanliness and efficiency, and is of great importance for the future energy economy.[1] The development of electrolytic water catalysts adapted to large-scale industrial applications is essential but challenging.[2] Currently, the commercially available catalysts are IrO2 for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and Pt/C for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), but they are limited by high costs and low stability.[3] In...
Crypto quanto and inverse options
1 INTRODUCTION Blockchain technology, on which every crypto is built, is renaître. The storage of information on a distributed ledger, which is visible to all participants, goes back to the 1990s at least (Haber & Stornetta, 1991, 1997). But the idea of a cryptographically linked blockchain technology only grew in popularity after the introduction of a cryptocurrency called bitcoin as the native token for a blockchain called Bitcoin (Nakamoto, 2008).

Selenium-Doped Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Regulates Macrophage Metabolism and Polarization by Scavenging ROS and Promotes Bone Regeneration In Vivo
Bone regeneration is complex and involves multiple cells and systems, with macrophage-mediated immune regulation being critical for the development and regulation of inflammation, angiogenesis, and osteogenesis. Biomaterials with modified physical and chemical properties (e.g., modified wettability and morphology) effectively regulate macrophage polarization. This study proposes a novel approach to macrophage-polarization induction and -metabolism regulation through selenium (Se) doping.

Option Pricing via QUAD: From Black-Scholes-Merton to Heston with Jumps
The Journal of Derivatives Spring 2017, Vol. 24, No. 3: pp. 9-27 DOI: 10.3905/jod.2017.24.3.009 The Black–Scholes model is the rare closed-form formula for pricing options, but its shortcomings are well known. Adding stochastic volatility, American or Bermudan early exercise, non-diffusive jumps in the returns process, and/or other “exotic” payoff features quickly takes one into the realm where approximate answers must by computed by numerical methods.

CD40-Mediated NF-κB Activation in B Cells Is Increased in Multiple Sclerosis and Modulated by Therapeutics
CD40 interacts with CD40L and plays an essential role in immune regulation and homeostasis. Recent research findings, however, support a pathogenic role of CD40 in a number of autoimmune diseases. We previously showed that memory B cells from relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients exhibited enhanced proliferation with CD40 stimulation compared with healthy donors.
