If Law and Justice returns to power in October, Poland could take an even greater turn to the right. A new nationalist, fascist, antisemitic party called Konfederacja is currently polling at 13 percent of the general electorate. Depending on the election results, Law and Justice could form a coalition with Konfederacja.
“Remember This: The Lesson of Jan Karski,” a one-man play by Clark Young and Derek Goldman starring David Strathairn, opened Sept. 10 at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn. Performances end Oct. 16. The title derives from Karski’s interview in “Shoah,” the acclaimed 1985 documentary film about the Holocaust by French filmmaker Claude Lanzmann. “My job was just to walk. And observe. And remember …” Karski says about his 1942 walk through the Warsaw Ghetto.
