Clinical value of habitat radiomics within the 2-cm edema zone surrounding the postoperative residual cavity in predicting glioma recurrence
Abstract Objective: To assess the predictive value of radiomics from the 2-cm edema zone surrounding the postoperative residual cavity for progression-free survival (PFS), using habitat analysis based on multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and integrating clinical data to construct a nomogram model. Methods: This retrospective study analyzed MRI and clinical data from 89 postoperative glioma patients.
Frontiers | Development and validation of multiple machine learning algorithms for differentiating primary central nervous system lymphoma from adult-type diffuse glioma: an interpretable and multicenter study
Introduction Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) and glioma represent the two most prevalent primary malignant intracranial neoplasms (1). The fifth edition of the the 2021 World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System (CNS) introduced substantial revisions to the molecularly-defined classification of glioma subtypes, with adult-type diffuse glioma (ADG) emerging as the most common histological subtype (2, 3).
Associations among melanocortin-4 receptor rs17782313 gene polymorphisms, 12-week aerobic exercise combined with low-fat diet and degree of reduction in blood lipids in adults with obesity
ABSTRACT Purpose This study investigates the relationships between melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) rs17782313 gene polymorphisms, low-fat diet, aerobic exercise, and the reduction in blood lipid levels in individuals with obesity. Methods A total of 240 adults living with obesity were enrolled to take part in a 12-week program that combined exercises with dietary interventions.
Efficient face information encryption and verification scheme based on full homomorphic encryption - Scientific Reports
Abstract Emerging global privacy mandates enforce strict requirements for biometric data protection, requiring encrypted processing throughout storage and computation phases.
Coupled-channels reactions for charged particles in harmonic traps
Based on our previous work about Coulomb corrections in the trap method [H. Zhang et al. Phys. Lett. B 850, 138490 (2024)], we extend the Coulomb-corrected Busch-Englert-Rzażewski-Wilkens formula in coupled-channels nuclear reactions and examine the reliability by taking He4=[H3+p]+[He3+n] as an example. The obtained numerical results are generally well consistent with conventional methods.
Complex scaled nonlocalized cluster model with continuum level density
Abstract In a recent work [H. Zhang, D. Bai, Z. Wang, and Z. Ren, Phys. Rev. C 105, 054317 (2022)], the complex scaled nonlocalized cluster model (CSNLCM) is proposed to study the resonant cluster states. In this work, we improve CSNLCM by combining it with the continuum level density (CLD).
Value of diffusion-weighted imaging in diagnosis and therapy response assessment of hepatic fungal infection in patients with acute leukemia.
To investigate the role of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for diagnosis and posttreatment assessment of hepatic fungal infection in patients with acute leukemia. Patients with acute leukemia and highly suspected hepatic fungal infection were collected in the study. All the patients underwent MRI examination, including initial and follow-up DWI. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of the lesions and the normal liver parenchyma were compared using Student’s t-test.
Quantum information in nucleon-nucleon scattering
Abstract Nucleon-nucleon scattering is a fundamental process in low-energy nuclear physics. Although its spin correlations have been studied intensively, few works take the perspective of quantum information science. In this work, I explore the quantum information aspects of spin correlations in the partially polarized neutron-proton scattering in the S wave.
Entanglement generation in few-nucleon scattering
Abstract Inspired by a recent Letter [S. R. Beane et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 122, 102001 (2019)], the entanglement generated in the elastic S-wave scattering of p+He3 and n+H3 is studied, where the proton, neutron, He3, and H3 are all regarded as qubits. To deal with the Coulomb interaction between the proton and He3, we derive the entanglement power, a physical quantity that measures the average entanglement generated by a scattering process, for charged qubits within the screening method.
