MetaTrader 5 — Trading | 18 February 2025, 08:41 123 0 In the previous article (Part 6), we developed an automated Order Block Detection System in MetaQuotes Language 5 (MQL5). Now, in Part 7, we focus on grid trading, a strategy that places trades at fixed price intervals, combined with dynamic lot scaling to optimize risk and reward. This approach adapts position sizing based on market conditions, aiming to enhance profitability and risk management.
Easy Reusability and Modular Design Save time by having not to rewrite common functions every time you start a new project. With .ex5 libraries, you write the code once, optimize it for best performance, export the functions, and then easily import them into any project. This modular approach keeps your code clean and organized by separating core functionalities from project-specific logic. Each part of the library becomes a building block for creating powerful trading systems.
In the first IF statement, we used "Bid" price and stated to open a position when "Bid" goes below or equal to "C" and "isBuyPosition" is false. Why did we use "Bid" here? Suppose we use the Ask price, then there is a possibility that the previous buy position is closed, but the new sell position doesn't get opened. This is because we know that the buy opens at Ask and closes at Bid, leaving a possibility that the buy will be closed when Bid crosses or equals the C price level line from above.
