What was your first job as a journalist?

I was writing for a small community magazine in the South End of Boston--"Community Glue"--also the street newspaper " Spare Change."

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes--I am from the old school.

How is social media changing news?

Not always for the best...

I just answered a call-out for writers for our city newspaper.

Blog, work for your school or local newspaper, anything to get your name and work out there. Write, write, Write, Read, Read, Read..

What's your favorite drink?

Whiskey and Soda

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Writing at the Bloc 11 Cafe in Somerville, MA. or teaching..

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I read the New York Times and The Boston Globe on a regular basis.
