Dr. Gabriel Carabello’s Biography
Dr. Gabriel Carabello is a board-certified vascular surgeon with over 30 years of experience caring for patients with complex vascular conditions. Raised in Los Angeles, California, he has spent much of his medical career serving communities throughout the region and beyond. His practice has focused on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and peripheral vascular disease, always prioritizing patient well-being.
He began his academic journey at Loyola Marymount University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1985. He then attended the UCLA School of Medicine, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine in 1989. He completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery at King-Drew Medical Center, where he trained from 1989 to 1995. He then completed a Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship in 1996 and a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at UCLA in 1997. In 2008, he expanded his clinical knowledge through a Mini-Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
He has held medical positions in several states, including California, Arizona, and Florida. He has served in permanent and temporary roles, frequently stepping in to meet urgent patient care needs. His work has included time at Yuma Regional Medical Center and HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, and several practices and surgical offices in Los Angeles. He has performed many procedures, especially those related to vascular access and endovascular techniques.
From 1997 to 1999, Gabriel Carabello, MD, was an Assistant Professor of Surgery, teaching while continuing his clinical responsibilities. He holds medical licenses in multiple states and is board-certified in General and vascular surgery. Additionally, he is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Moderate Sedation. His ability to speak English and Spanish has allowed him to communicate effectively with a broad patient base.
He has received several professional awards and contributed to academic publications on trauma care and vascular treatment.
