Dr. Colin Knight

Dr. Colin Knight began his college career at Yale University, graduating in 1991 with a BA in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. He next attended the University of Virginia, obtaining his MD in 1995. The United States Air Force employed Dr. Knight as a Flight Surgeon after a surgical internship at the University of Virginia. As an aviation accident investigator, Colin provided fliers and their families with medical treatment and worked as a human-factors specialist for multiple aircraft accidents. Dr. Knight received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Achievement Medal.

After he was discharged, he completed his training at Allegheny General Hospital. He spent a year as a surgery resident doing ground-breaking research on using surgical robots in pediatric surgery. Dr. Colin Knight focused on researching the use of surgical robots in micro- and fetal surgery. He received training at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in pediatric surgery after completing his surgical residency.
