Dr. Neil Ross’s Biography

Neil Evan Ross, MD, has spent his career at the intersection of clinical practice and healthcare management. He holds a background in anesthesiology, medical operations, and healthcare leadership. A graduate of Tulane University and its School of Medicine, Dr. Neil Ross has developed and led multiple anesthesia groups, including Summit Anesthesia and Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants. He currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida, where he leads Diabetic Practice Solutions LLC.

Neil was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his high school education at Ida Crown Jewish Academy. After graduating, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to attend Tulane University. There, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and later continued at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986. His academic foundation positioned him well for the demands of clinical and leadership roles in the medical field.

Following medical school, Neil began a surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center. This role introduced him to the challenges of hospital work, requiring quick thinking and high attention to detail. After finishing his internship, Neil returned to New York to begin a residency in anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center. His interest in the specialty grew stronger, leading him to complete a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at NYU, which gave him deeper exposure to high-risk surgical cases.

Neil’s clinical career began in 1990 when he joined Sheridan Healthcare in Hollywood, Florida. Over the next six years, he served in various roles, including Director of Cardiac Anesthesia. He also supported the company’s expansion by assisting in contract development and administrative initiatives across different regions. His time at Sheridan also allowed him to observe and participate in behind-the-scenes operations like billing procedures, staff scheduling, and system compliance.

In 1996, Neil relocated to New Jersey and joined Summit Anesthesia Associates. This marked the start of his role as both a clinician and a managing partner. The practice provided anesthesia services to several hospitals, including Mountainside Hospital and Trinitas Regional Medical Center. By 1999, Neil had become the managing member, handling tasks such as hospital contract negotiations, recruiting, provider oversight, and ensuring alignment with healthcare regulations.

In 2008, Neil founded Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants in Livingston, New Jersey. As the owner, he oversaw both clinical and business operations for anesthesia services provided at a surgery center. Under his leadership, the practice achieved sustained financial growth, generating over three million dollars in annual revenue. Neil remained involved in day-to-day clinical coverage, emergency care, and staff supervision until 2012, when he experienced a debilitating stroke that led to his retirement from anesthesia practice.

Neil shifted his focus in 2016 when he joined Omniscient Financial LLC, a family-run business. His role involved advising on equipment financing and monitoring financial compliance. He remained involved with the company until 2024, contributing his expertise in operations and strategic planning.

In 2024, Neil took on a leadership role with Diabetic Practice Solutions LLC. The company’s mission is to help healthcare providers offer structured diabetes care while meeting operational and administrative standards. Neil worked on supporting practices to improve both patient health outcomes and their financial results.

Although he no longer practices medicine, Neil maintains an inactive medical license in the state of Florida. He is affiliated with the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He first achieved board certification in anesthesiology in 1991 and voluntarily renewed his certification in 2008.

Neil moved to Boca Raton, Florida, in 2019 after spending more than twenty years living in New Jersey. The move brought him closer to his family and gave him the chance to shift his focus. He continues to stay active through regular weightlifting and has a personal interest in wine collecting. Neil has also contributed to several synagogues as part of his commitment to supporting the community.
