What does it mean to be a journalist?
To tell stories and provide the public with up-to-date and accurate information.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
Not necessarily a hashtag but the Kendrick-Drake feud has been entertaining.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email or text, it's easier to say no.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Adobe Creative, Microsoft Office, ad Google suites. My personal camera is a Sony A6700 but my work cameras are Sony A7s.

Why did you become a journalist?
I've always been into writing and producing digital content. Maybe it's my generation but I feel like I was born creating content.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked for the Walton Braves School TV station in Defuniak Springs, Florida. I made news and TV content.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My coverage of the crew that was essential to protecting troops during the Afghanistan withdrawal.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Someone once said, "the best way to make money in photography is to sell your equipment."

Any time.

My story on the pollution in Port St Joe.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
To write an article about how an office was innovating by using a new pdf format.
What's your favorite drink?
Ghost energy drinks
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the forest, I'm really big into hiking and nature photography.

National Geographic
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
It depends on which beat, but I don't feel there are any misconceptions about a lot of my work.
