Dylan McLaren’s Biography

Sport Journalist studying at News Associates London. In 2025, I won the FWA Hugh McIlvanney Student Football writer of the year.

Studying media law, essential journalism, public affair, data journalism and video journalism all building in becoming a NCTJ qualified multimedia journalist.

Philosophy and Politics graduate from Durham University with Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1). My academic work focused on ethics and political theory, culminating in a dissertation examining the ethical boundaries between football fandom and hooliganism.

Throughout the 2024/2025 academic year, I held the role of Deputy Sport Editor at Palatinate, Durham University's award-winning student newspaper.

Nominated for the Rising Star (Best Newcomer) award at the SPANC25 Sports Journalism Awards.

Passionate about exploring the intersections of politics, culture, and sport through journalism.
