Introduction Radical cystectomy is a potentially curative treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer in a predominantly elderly population. It is complex major surgery after which there is significant morbidity and mortality 1. Guidelines recommend the assessment and explicit documentation of risk before major surgery 2-4. The aim is to identify specific risks and ideally quantify their likelihood, as peri‐operative morbidity is associated with prolonged hospitalisation and shorter survival 5, 6.
