1 INTRODUCTION Ghrelin is a hormone that is secreted by cells in the stomach and regulates appetite (Kojima et al., 1999). As it particularly increases the motivation to eat foods high in sugar and fat (Egecioglu et al., 2010; Perello, 2010), even in the absence of hunger (Skibicka et al., 2012), it seems to act specifically on the reward aspects of eating. Besides food, ghrelin's effect also extends to other types of rewards.
