Having guided growth for Facebook and Uber, Ed Baker functions as an advisor to four California-based companies. Ed Baker launched his career by founding the social networking website Friend.ly, which later earned him a position as the head of international growth for Facebook after it acquired Friend.ly in 2011.
More recently, Ed Baker joined Uber as its vice president of growth. As such, he led efforts to increase rider and driver retention. His team developed cheaper, more effective strategies for attracting long-term riders and drivers. After three years leading the growth team, Ed Baker also began to lead the product team as its vice president of product.
A triathlete with ambitions to compete in Ironman and Half Ironman events, Mr. Baker received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and enjoys playing the piano, learning to play the banjo, kiteboarding, and skiing in his free time.
