Abstract Objective: This study investigates the application of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Diffusion Models in data augmentation to improve the classification of tree species images, which is essential for sustainable forest management. Theoretical Framework: Fundamental concepts of machine learning, generative and classifier networks, as well as data augmentation techniques through synthetic image generation, are presented, establishing a solid foundation for the research.
