Edward Lundquist’s Biography

Captain Edward Lundquist, U.S. Navy (Retired), is a principal science writer at MCR Federal in McLean, Virginia, supporting government clients. He also has his own company, Echo Bridge LLC, which provides outreach and advocacy support to commercial clients.

He served on active duty for 24 years in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer and public affairs specialist. Captain Lundquist served aboard USS Tawakoni (ATF 114) and USS Cochrane (DDG 21). He served with Navy Recruiting District Boston, Commander Submarine Group Two in New London, CT, and Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily. He was a Pentagon spokesman with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, director of the Fleet Home Town News Center, and director of public affairs and corporate communications for the Navy Exchange Service Command. His last tour on active duty was commanding the 450 men and women of the Naval Media Center.

He has a BA in Journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a master’s in journalism and public affairs from the American University in Washington, DC.

He is an accredited business communicator and award-winning communicator who served in leadership positions with the International Association of Business Communicators. He was named an IABC Fellow in 2016. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Surface Navy Association and chair of the SNA communications committee. Captain Lundquist has chaired or presented at conferences on naval, maritime and defense conferences around the world, and writes for a number of international technical and professional journals.

Captain Lundquist still serves in uniform as a Boy Scout Leader.
