Edward Sylvan is the CEO of the Sycamore Entertainment Group, Inc., in Vancouver, Canada. The company specializes in marketing and distributing independent films, as well as print and advertising finance. The Sycamore Entertainment Group acquires both domestic and international rights to films for release in movie theaters and other markets, including home video and video on demand. Edward Sylvan established the company in 2007, with responsibility for corporate finance and development and for overall management of the company. He successfully acquired and distributed The Eye of the Storm, an award-winning film, as well as all 26 episodes of The Judy Garland Show.
Prior to launching the Sycamore Entertainment Group, Edward Sylvan attended York University in Toronto, where he earned a B.A. in business, and then worked in investment banking for 20 years. He started Sycamore Entertainment out of a passion for film and a desire to change the standard Hollywood financial model. When he’s not working, Edward Sylvan enjoys a number of hobbies, including reading, kart racing, and cooking, with a preference for Caribbean foods from the island of Trinidad.
