Stanford defeats NC State in crucial ACC-after-dark matchup
An explosive first quarter with 234 yards of offense and two Davis Warren touchdown passes set the tone for a game that was always in control for the Stanford Cardinal (4-4, 2-3 ACC), lofting them 31-28 over the North Carolina State Wolfpack (3-4, 1-3 ACC) on Friday evening. This marks the first time Stanford has won back-to-back games since 2024 and the first time they have earned a .500 winning percentage through eight games since 2019.
Stanford football prepared, optimistic for NC State matchup
After a homecoming weekend win against Elon (4-4, 2-2 CAA), Stanford football (3-4, 1-3 ACC) looks to keep the momentum rolling this Friday against North Carolina State (3-3, 1-2 ACC). This game is pivotal as the Cardinal prepare to go back on the road for games at Louisville (4-3, 3-2 ACC) and Virginia Tech (5-2, 2-2 ACC) in the upcoming weeks. If Stanford is to position themselves as bowl game contenders, this game is even more of a must-win.
Stanford football hopes to right the ship against Elon
After two disappointing road losses, Stanford (2-4, 1-3 ACC) returns home for the first of two consecutive games at Stanford Stadium. This week’s opponent for reunion homecoming weekend is Elon University (4-3, 2-2 CAA). After being outscored 115-10 in the past two outings against Wake Forest (5-1, 3-1 ACC) and No. 2 Notre Dame (6-0), the Cardinal will have to shake things up on both sides of the ball as they go into the second half of the season.
Why we need to fix our culture of privacy
Stanford’s cuts to the sexual awareness programs Beyond Sex Ed and Flip the Script have been met with condemnation from the student body. In the wake of the Cornell 7 case being thrust into the national spotlight, these cuts have taken on a new meaning: Stanford is a “systemic accomplice to rape culture itself.” But these programs were not the panacea that students have retroactively portrayed them to be.
Stanford football suffers painful loss to rival Notre Dame
“We were not ready to play.” Those were some of the first words head coach Tavita Pritchard’s said in the post-game press conference after Stanford’s (2-4, 1-3 ACC) 58-7 loss to No. 3 Notre Dame (6-0). In the last two games alone, the Cardinal have been outscored 115-10 by their opponents. Saturday’s road loss in South Bend, Ind. also extends Stanford football’s road losing streak to 14 games, tied for the worst in the FBS.
Stanford football aims to upset No. 3 Notre Dame in upcoming rivalry game
Stanford football (3-2, 1-3 ACC) heads to South Bend, Ind. this weekend for their annual rivalry matchup against No. 3 Notre Dame (5-0). This year marks the 40th meeting between these two teams, and the 25th time the Legends Trophy will be up for grabs. Stanford is looking to gain some momentum coming off a tough 57-3 loss at Wake Forest (4-1, 2-1 ACC) last weekend. Notre Dame comes in undefeated and ranked third in the latest AP poll.
Stanford’s RAs aren’t ready to unionize
Some of Stanford’s resident assistants (RAs) have spent the past year organizing to address what has been described as understaffing, low pay and a lack of communication with administration. After investing considerable time and energy, their proposed solution is a union. I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with hardworking RAs in my time at Stanford. I am in favor of fair wages and robust support for the work that they do.
