What was your first job as a journalist?

Sportswriter at Peekskill Star.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I even failed typing in junior high.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Lois Lane

What does it mean to be a journalist?

You get to be a truthteller.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Wordpress, Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, InDesign.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to write and I didn't want to work on a farm or in a factory. I wasn't good at those things.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was the founding editor.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My "Bflo Pnk 1.0" documentary, although my choice could change day to day.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Do the digging. Go there. Make the calls. Don't take no for an answer.

What's your favorite drink?

Guinness

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Teaching.
