EU-kommissionen lade den 8 juli 2025 fram ett förenklingspaket för EU:s kemikalielagstiftning, den så kallade kemikalieomnibusen eller Omnibus VI. Den 17 juni 2026 meddelade Europaparlamentet och Rådet att de hade nått en preliminär politisk överenskommelse om förslaget och Europaparlamentets ansvariga utskott godkände kompromisstexten den 14 juli 2026.
