Validity and accuracy of a machine learning predictive model in the exploitation of patient-related outcomes in spine surgery
Introduction Lumbar spine pathologies are among the most disabling disorders worldwide, and numerous factors contribute to this pathological condition (1, 2). Precision medicine aims to consider each patient's personal characteristics to select the most appropriate treatment (3). Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is caused by a gradual narrowing of the spinal canal associated with degenerative changes or disc herniation, and it has become one of the most common indications for spinal surgery (4).

Limited fasciectomy with versus without autologous adipose tissue grafting for treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture (REMEDY): study protocol for a multicentre randomised controlled trial | Trials | Full Text
Interventions Autologous adipose tissue grafting in association with limited fasciectomy (experimental group) and limited fasciectomy alone (control group) were identified as comparators. Limited fasciectomy is a standard surgical treatment for Dupuytren’s contracture. Autologous adipose tissue grafting has been well investigated as an adjunct treatment to percutaneous needle fasciotomy for Dupuytren’s contracture [9, 17,18,19,20].
Pedicle screw placement accuracy in robot-assisted versus image-guided freehand surgery of thoraco-lumbar spine (ROBARTHRODESE): study protocol for a single-centre randomized controlled trial | Trials | Full Text
The quantitative variables will be described by the number of values entered, the number of missing data, the mean, the standard deviation, the median, the 1st and 3rd quartiles, the minimum and the maximum. The qualitative variables will be described by the number of values entered, the number of missing data, the frequency, the percentage of each modality and the 95% confidence interval (CI) of each modality, if relevant.
Effect of preoperative coronary CT for planning of percutaneous coronary intervention for complex chronic total occlusion (CTS-C-CTOPCI): study protocol for an open-label randomised controlled trial | Trials | Full Text
Chronic total occlusion (CTO) refers to the complete obstruction of a coronary artery classified as Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) 0 flow for at least 3 months and is frequently diagnosed in patients with coronary artery disease [1,2,3].
Statin treatment is not associated with an increased risk of adrenal insufficiency in real-world setting
1 Introduction Statins are lipid-lowering drugs used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. They act by inhibiting the catalysis of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) into mevalonate by HMG CoA reductase, thus reducing cholesterol synthesis by the liver. Beside this effect on cholesterol reduction, statins reduce inflammation and oxidative stress and up-regulate endothelial NO-synthase activity, thereby improving endothelial functions and stabilizing the atherosclerotic plaque (1).
