Abstract Vaccines have been instrumental in preventing up to three million deaths globally, according to the WHO. Despite this, COVID-19 vaccine uptake has faced challenges due to vaccine issues, production difficulties, and various socio-demographic, economic, structural, and cultural factors. This study examined the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy among adults aged 18 and older in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The study was conducted in the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipality. The Municipality is located in the Northeastern part of the Greater Accra Region [31]. The Municipality has an estimated population of 130,380 with an annual growth rate of 4.2%. The majority (82.0%) of the inhabitants of the Municipality live in urban/peri-urban towns [32].
