What was your first job as a journalist?
Worked at the Times & Democrat in Orangeburg as a sports writer.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I did when I was younger. It clearly wasn't work related.
How is social media changing news?
It's given people new ways to get their news rather than waiting for your 6 o'clock news. But it's also made it important to be accurate.

Peter Parker
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I think it means being able to inform the public of important events but being able to tell the stories in communities that need to be told.
Who do you wish followed you?
Wow.... ummm... let me get back to you on that. That's a good one.
Why did you become a journalist?
I've always wanted to be an athlete, but I always figured I'd write about sports if I couldn't play them. It all worked out.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did! The Saints Trumpeter. I was a sports writer there too.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I always love the bigger projects my station sends me to cover (i.e. National Championships, Final Fours, etc.).
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be willing to take constructive criticism. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Enjoy the ride.

Cherry Coke
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In front of my TV, playing video games, or spending time with my wife.
