Meet Bruce Grego: Republican candidate for Nevada’s CD2
Why are you running now, and what makes you the right candidate for this moment? The opportunity arose when the existing Congressman decided not to run for a new term. So it's a wide open seat. Why am I the best candidate? Lots of reasons. I have a lot of experience with government in South Lake Tahoe. I was on the City Planning Commission for over 10 years, and I also sat in the city council twice in 1989 and 90 to finish a term, and then I had a full term when I was elected in 2008 to 2012.
Meet Andrea Lowe: Republican candidate for Nevada’s CD2
Why are you running now, and what makes you the right candidate for this moment?
Meet Kathy Durham: Democratic candidate for Nevada’s CD2
Why are you running now, and what makes you the right candidate for this moment? Well, I never thought I'd be running for Congress because my passion is teaching, but I'm running now because democracy is hanging on by a thread. I have spent my entire life teaching students separation of powers, checks and balances, rule of law. That is not what we see going on and I feel like it's time for a teacher's voice to be in the halls of Congress. Why am I the best candidate for this job?
Meet Morgan Wadsworth: Democratic candidate for Nevada’s CD2
Why are you running now, and what makes you the right candidate for this moment? One of the breaking points for me was the Big Beautiful Bill when our former congressman, Mark Amodei, voted for that in the house knowing full well that our state is always ranked last in healthcare. So that was kind of a last straw for me and what spurred me into action. I mean, to the best of my knowledge, I'm the only candidate that has lived in urban and rural Nevada, and that's huge in this district.
Meet Jerry Olsen: Republican candidate for Nevada’s CD2
Why are you running now, and what makes you the right candidate for this moment? I'm running now because I've always wanted to be in politics. I just never had the opportunity working all those years as an Army medic and working as a deputy sheriff. Right now, we've had too many of the same politicians running over and over and over again. They go from one political job to another political job. We need some new blood. We need new faces. We need new ideas.
