Emily Chaffins’s Biography
An award-winning fiction writer, journalist, poet, and photographer, Emily Chaffins has a passion for infusing storytelling into any genre of writing. She serves as Assistant Editor of the Archdiocese of Miami's Florida Catholic (Miami)/La Voz Católica. She is also creator and curator of the archdiocese's "Through the Catholic Lens" blog, which is all about rediscovering art and media through a Catholic worldview.
She also freelances for other publications, and her work has been featured in international and local publications including Flipboard, EWTN News, National Catholic Register, Catholic Exchange, Catholic Vote's "The Loop," and The Florida Book Review. She also worked as a Copy Editor for the literary journal Dappled Things.
She earned an Associates of Arts degree at Miami Dade College; a Bachelor of Arts in English - Creative Writing at Florida International University; a Certificate in Professional and Public Writing at FIU; and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at FIU.
