What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I love the Hemingway App for basic grammar and checking grade level, Qwoted or HERO for finding expert insights, and always Google Docs.

Why did you become a journalist?

I started writing when I was very young (think grade school, writing short stories) but started writing professionally in 2017.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't quit when the work doesn't come immediately. Keep pitching, use social networks to gain connections, and find your niche early on.

What's your favorite drink?

Diet Coke, through and through! Or a berry-flavored seltzer water, if I'm avoiding caffeine.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading in our library room, snuggling with a cat, or at the barn with my horse and dog!
