Queer Latinas belong everywhere - including politics
I was recently thinking about how campaign season has a way of testing everything—patience, endurance, and sometimes even friendships. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of politics, where every issue feels personal and each opinion is louder than the last. So, what happens when you and a close friend find yourselves on opposite sides of the ballot? Does it mean the end of a friendship?
Queer Latinas belong everywhere - including politics
The Washington Post recently had two columns relating to Black voters. One column was ‘Harris is trying to reverse a steep decline in Black turnout in Wisconsin;’ and the second column was ‘Obama admonishes Black men for hesitancy in supporting Harris.’ In the column about Obama the former president talks about some Black men who are uncomfortable voting for a woman, and are coming up with excuses.

As progressives want to do everywhere, California is destroying math education in the name of “equity.” The state’s new “math framework” for public schools ditches traditional instruction to emphasize “self-identity” and collaboration in lieu of actual math skills. We could build a system that opens the door to a successful future for so many more Washingtonians. With more than 20,000 apprentices enrolled in registered state apprenticeships in our state — enough to create a decent sized college — we have the blueprint.
Super-Duper Moongirl and the Amazing Moon Dawdler
This story originally appeared in Writers of the Future Vol. 35 I’m Dixie. I’m twelve. Well, almost. My birthday is coming up, so close enough. I wear red. God gave me red hair, but I picked the rest, from my red space Keds—Mom hates them—to my matching silk cape—Dad loves it—because capes are cool, and when you drape them right, they hide the tubes. I have a dog. He’s a MedGen robodog, looks like a chrome Doberman pinscher. He breathes for both of us, and he juices up my air with higher oxy.
Who's having a quiet word with our politicians?
