Eric Ferkenhoff’s Biography

National investigative journalist, reporting, editing and teaching all things journalism. Previously, lead criminal justice investigative reporter for Newsweek, Midwest Criminal Justice Reporter for USA TODAY Network. Split my time between Kansas City and Chicago for most of my career, but I moved to North Carolina in 2016, then home to KC in 2020. I have practiced journalism as a reporter, writer and editor, as well as taught as a university instructor, for nearly 30 years.
