Four very early, very bold predictions for the 2019 Fantasy Football season
By Eric McClung, Player Profiler Special to Yahoo Sports We haven’t even flipped the calendar yet to 2019 but here we are planting flags in the ground and calling our shots for next season. We’ve still got coaching changes, free agency, draft season, and so much more to go. Yet there’s plenty we can take away from 2018 even though Week 17 hasn’t even been played. Uncovering the truth about five players we've counted on this fantasy season
Amari Cooper’s fantasy owners have experienced a roller coaster ride this season. What does it say about the player himself? (Photo by Andrew Dieb/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) The term “truther” is often applied liberally in fantasy football. In short, it’s a player that you have strong convictions about being good even though they’ve yet to break out, or the player has been unable to find a sustained level of success.
What is the deal with all these undrafted RBs shaking up fantasy?
Roaring down the highway of the 2018 fantasy football season is a hot rod. It has a shiny chrome frame of rising metallic flames placed above the rear bumper. The frame holds a vanity license plate that reads “UDFA RB SZN” in big bright letters. As the exit signs begin to appear for the fantasy playoffs, a number of young running backs that were not selected on draft day are making a big impact.

There are only six weeks remaining on the fantasy football schedule. For most leagues, it’s really just a pair of two separate three-week seasons. Weeks 11-13 set the table for the standard fantasy playoffs during weeks 14-16. Trade deadlines have come and gone but owners are still looking for ways to improve their rosters.
Mahomes vs. Mayfield: A glimpse into the future of Fantasy Football
The clear highlight matchup at the top of the Week 9 marquee is Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady. Sunday Night Football pits arguably the most talented quarterback of all time in Rodgers against Brady, the passer with the best career of anyone to ever play the position. The late afternoon undercard features the undefeated Los Angeles Rams facing Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. Even the early-game slate has a number of interesting divisional matchups.
Fantasy Trade Watch: Sell High/Buy Low candidates after five weeks
It’s that time of year. Time to perform a much-needed fantasy football team diagnostic. Rosters featuring Alvin Kamara or Todd Gurley are likely coasting atop the standings, but most are not so fortunate. With five NFL weeks in the books, it is time to talk trades with league mates and put every player (other than Todd Gurley) on the table…even LeSean McCoy.
