Eric Mercado

With more than 30 years experience as a journalist, I’ve written and edited stories on just about every conceivable topic.

I began my career as a reporter for a local bilingual newspaper chain, covering the police beat, along with anything else of interest to the Latino community that the paper served. I then worked for an alternative weekly, which exposed me to large investigative pieces and the exhaustive reporting behind them. I eventually wound up at Los Angeles Magazine, where the editorial mix was varied (food, entertainment, business, politics).

I'm currently a freelance writer and editor contributing to books, magazines and digital outlets.
