What was your first job as a journalist?
My current role with eCoustics. Am still pretty new to all this.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. Badly. Never had lessons (boys didn't take typing in my day). My keyboarding has improved to the point where I can almost touch type.
How is social media changing news?
Positives: More immediacy, more democratic. Negatives: More fake news, less trust in media, more extremism through bubbling of content.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Lois Lane?
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Letting the ideas in my head out.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via Instagram messaging? That's the most likely place to find me.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MS Word. Pixelmator. iPhone. Wordpress. MacBook Air. The software in my head.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram. I'm very visual, and love the opportunity to share images of my music and equipment, and meet other audiophiles around the globe.
Who do you wish followed you?
Nobody in particular. Jazz and vintage audio fans. Jazz musicians. Audiophiles.
Why did you become a journalist?
The opportunity presented itself and I took the plunge. It's only part time. I still have a day job. For now.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The recent podcast with Kevin Gray and Joe Harley of the Blue Note Tone Poet jazz reissue series. What a trip!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Sit down and write. Thinking about it doesn't get you anywhere.

After beer, fruit juice diluted with soda water. Subtle flavor and refreshing.

In my basement, in my listening chair, immersed in a jazz experience.
