We live in fearful times — especially if you come from a marginalized community. Immigrants face being snatched from the street by masked ICE agents in unmarked vans, international students fear deportation for their views, and trans people are vilified by government officials and denied their rights. Hate crimes — particularly antisemitism and Islamophobia — are rising everywhere, sometimes with deadly consequences. All this is happening amid intense political polarization.
