Erick Kabendera’s Biography

Erick has worked for 20 years as one of the leading East African investigative journalists, doing stories spanning 20 countries in East Africa, Europe and the US, covering issues including illicit trafficking of non-renewable resources; the rise of Islamic insurgencies in East Africa, Northern Mozambique and Burundi; Tanzania covert military operations in DRC, Burundi to transnational criminal networks. He was also part of more than 160 journalists from 50 countries who collaborated with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in a cross-border investigation into the Swiss Leaks financial records in 2015 and the Panama Papers in 2016.
