Erik Malinowski’s Biography

I’m a Bay Area-based reporter and features writer. I mostly write about sports, but sometimes not. I write all kinds of stories — Q&As, gamers, columns, longform, topical analyses — and for all sports. I’ve reported from the NBA Finals, World Series, MLB All-Star Game, NBA playoffs, NFL, MLS, U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, college hockey, and other events. I covered the San Francisco Giants’ 2014 World Series run for Fox Sports and the Golden State Warriors’ 2015 title run for Sports on Earth. I’m also a frequent guest on NPR’s “Only a Game" and have been cited in "Best American Sports Writing" three years running (published in 2013; Notable in 2014 and 2015).
