What was your first job as a journalist?

It was a freelance movie review for the film Ghost World in the Cleveland Free Times.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, when I first learned to type in middle school.

Why did you become a journalist?

I like to amplify about the work of other storytellers, their craft, and their lasting effect on consumers.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, but I did work at my college newspaper, the Eastern Echo where I was an arts and entertainment writer.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Any time I can get help get a marginalized voice be heard, or draw attention to a project that needs more eyes on it, I am happy.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Know your craft, know your subject, and know what's already been said.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime really, but understand I am on Pacific Standard Time.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

The Comic Shop or a baseball/soccer field.
