What was your first job as a journalist?
High School journalism class on-air contributor specializing in entertainment news - no pay, but treated as work.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. Quite enjoyed it. Helped hone my typing skills since I never wanted to make a mistake. The correcting tape was and still is expensive.
How is social media changing news?
For the most part, there's no longer a need to delay reporting on a breaking story since you don't need a publicist to OK it or confirm it.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Will McAvoy, "The Newsroom."
What does it mean to be a journalist?
You are entrusted with information that'll be shared with the world in the most thoughtful and appropriate manner.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email or telephone, depending on the need. If email, submit all materials (including images) that can be used in the story.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
An internet connection, a phone, Google Drive, Photoshop, a camera and a microphone.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. Straight to the point, limited characters and not as media heavy like Instagram, Facebook, etc.
Why did you become a journalist?
I want people to know every detail that matters with no BS and no opinion. Just the facts. "Here is the news."
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Love the work. Hone your skills. Observe and analyze everything.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Any unsolicited demand for a guest post on the website stipulating it'll be there forever, without including a legit phone number to contact.
What's your favorite drink?
Cranberry Apple Juice
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Watching TV, snacking, or at the gym.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Because I report on soaps I can't cover other genres. Regardless of whether it's TV, movies, celebrity, beauty or fashion, etc. I got you.
