Why did you become a journalist?

I read Gene Weingarten's "Pearls Before Breakfast," about Joshua Bell in the Metro, and wanted to be able to write about the world that way.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

An in-depth look at the Peace Corps and the unusual effects of representing the Trump presidency.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't let a 'no' stop you. Keep asking, keep pushing, and get the story.
