What was your first job as a journalist?
Arts & Entertainment Editor, Muhlenberg College. Paid? Assistant Managing Editor, Long Island Report.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I don't remember ever using one, but I must have...once...on a school field trip or something like that.
How is social media changing news?
Citizen journalists are real. The news cycle is 24-hrs these days.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I like to think of journalism as the art of factual story-telling. We must be accurate and fair, but through our writing we express ourselves

Twitter.

Why did you become a journalist?
I love to write, and I love pop culture and the arts and story-telling. Magazines make me happy. People have stories I want to hear.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I did an editorial piece about living with a disability for Long Island Report. It was raw and pretty hard to publish.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't call yourself that, just go out and do it.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Probably the evening.
