What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist could go all the way back to my high school newspaper, but Trill Mag is my first position outside of school.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes I would like to use one more often.
How is social media changing news?
Social media is changing the news in several ways that I can't fit into this small word count. Main Changes: Speed, Accuracy, Accessibility
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
My favorite fictional journalists are Lois Lane, Betty Suarez, Gale Weathers
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be journalist means to follow an ethical code of reporting the truth and working to improve the world.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
I am not sure I have seen a memorable funny one.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
However the pitcher prefers to pitch.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft, WordPress, YouTube, the good-ole Library

Why did you become a journalist?
To inform the public and do something that I am passionate about and enjoy: writing.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes I was the one that founded it.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud of writing and producing my story on an alternative spring break trip to North Carolina.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
No short cuts. Have confidence in yourself and ignore that negative imposter voice. Always help your peers because we are in this together.
When's the best time to pitch you?
The best time to pitch to me is anytime. Just understand my response time will vary.

I am still waiting...
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
The only bad pitch is a pitch not given.
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is water. I love ice water and even room temp water. Sometimes I get crazy and add electrolytes or have sparkling.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Reading a book.

The New York Times
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The most common misperception about my beat is that it is set in concrete and not fluid. I am still young and a student discovering my voice.
