The little guys in the room: How it feels to be left out of the NCAA Tournament as a mid-major player
We are all here for a reason. You didn’t just stumble across this amazing and superb website called Mid-Major Madness (Fact check: CORRECT! it is both amazing and superb). We’re here because we all love mid-major basketball. The main reason why I love the mid-majors is because of the countless games where an underdog comes out of nowhere and upsets a powerhouse basketball program. What can I say? I love the little guy.
Evan Bradds: Mid-major player turned mid-major writer
What is up, Mid Major Madness! Evan Bradds here, reporting live from Jamestown, Ohio! If you don’t know much about me, I recently graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Recently, however, I tore my ACL while pursuing my professional basketball career, and now I am sidelined for around 6-8 more months.
Thank You, Belmont | By Evan Bradds
We lost to Jacksonville State in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference tourney a couple of weeks ago. For me and the others who are graduating this year — Taylor Barnette, Josh Lester and Nick Smith — it effectively ended our chances of making the NCAA Tournament at making some magic happen in March. We didn’t plan on finishing our college basketball careers without making the tournament one last time, especially after how well we had played all season.
