Eva Ruth Moravec’s Biography

An experienced and dedicated journalist, Eva Ruth runs City Cast Austin, comprising a small team that produces a newsletter and podcast every weekday about Austin news and culture. From her first job at community newspapers, Eva Ruth has always been invested in local news, and remained so through staff positions at the San Antonio Express-News and Associated Press, and as a freelancer contributing to The Washington Post, The Atlantic, ProPublica, Texas Observer, and others. Her podcasting career began with co-producing, reporting and writing Chicano Squad for Vox Media, and she had the pleasure of producing, reporting and writing several narrative nonfiction podcast series for MSNBC. She was tapped to be the executive producer and start City Cast Austin, part of a 13-city network, in 2024.
