Reconfigurable multibeam engineering of Marangoni convection for programmable optofluidic steering
Abstract Optofluidic manipulation provides a powerful route for guiding micro- and nanoparticles, yet conventional light-induced flow systems often suffer from limited controllability, unstable flow patterns, and poor reconfigurability. Here, we demonstrate programmable optofluidic steering based on multibeam engineering of Marangoni convection technique (MEMCT) around optothermally generated air bubbles.

Helical opto-thermoviscous flows drive out-of-plane rotation and particle spinning in a highly viscous micro-environment
Abstract Contact-free and object-agnostic three-dimensional (3D) rotation remains a challenge at both the micro and nanoscale, with broad relevance to advanced imaging, biology, microrobotics, and materials science. Specifically, precise 3D rotation is desirable in diffusion-suppressing environments, where conventional micromanipulation methods fail.
Tunable photon-recoil forces and negative torque at flat-top beam edges - Nature Communications
Abstract Tightly focused Gaussian beams are the cornerstone of traditional optical tweezers. Flat-top beams also enable consummate control of particles over a two-dimensional plane. The former depends on the intensity gradient, while the latter the phase gradient.
Optical Micromanipulations Based on Model Predictive Control of Thermoviscous Flows
Implementation of Random Search Algorithm for Alignment Experiments The implementation of the control algorithm in this experimental setup was based on a modification of the hybrid framework for feedback control of thermoviscous flows, which was already described in the previous work.[28, 30] In this framework, the image acquisition, particle detection, timing of the feedback loop, and IR laser control were implemented in LabVIEW.
Creating tunable lateral optical forces through multipolar interplay in single nanowires - Nature Communications
Abstract The concept of lateral optical force (LOF) is of general interest in optical manipulation as it releases the constraint of intensity gradient in tightly focused light, yet such a force is normally limited to exotic materials and/or complex light fields. Here, we report a general and controllable LOF in a nonchiral elongated nanoparticle illuminated by an obliquely incident plane wave.
