For the resident physician, differentiation of normal variants of the pancreas from disease can be challenging. The goal of this review is to familiarize radiology residents and other practitioners with the basic knowledge of pancreatic imaging and to demonstrate normal conditions that, if not correctly diagnosed, might lead to unnecessary follow-up examinations or other diagnostic procedures.
