Federico Pita

Federico Pita is a political scientist (UBA) and a leading voice on anti-racist studies and identity politics in the Global South. As the Founder and President of the Afro-Argentine organization DIAFAR and Director of the Nucleus for the Study of Racism and Inequalities at UMET, he bridges the gap between academic research and public policy. He also coordinates the Working Group "Anti-racism and Afro-descendance in the Global South" at CLACSO (Latin American Council of Social Sciences)—the world’s most influential social sciences network, with over 1,000 research centers across five continents—where his team serves as a primary reference for the intersection of anti-racist scholarship and Global South realities.

In the media landscape, Federico serves as the editor of Negrx, the pioneering anti-racist section of Página/12, Argentina’s leading progressive newspaper. He is the author of Antirracismo: Pensamiento y praxis en clave afrolatinoamericana (2025). His expertise focuses on the deconstruction of racial myths—such as the "myth of the white Argentina"—and the critical analysis of social inequalities.

A frequent speaker at international forums, Federico provides a distinct, grassroots-informed perspective on the complex realities of the Americas. His work has been published in Al Jazeera, Buenos Aires Herald, and other international outlets.
