Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
Senior year of high school, as editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, I was sent to London (from Italy!) on a special project.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, but I would love to try!
How is social media changing news?
Drastically.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Jane Sloan or Kara Danvers
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
#WakandaGate went viral in early 2018. I even got the pleasure to interview the person who started it and to write an article about it.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
WordPress, Office Suite, GSuite, Slack, Analytics and many more
What's your favorite social network?
Tumblr, probably.
Who do you wish followed you?
Jameela Jamil
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I can't help but observe the world around me and I always end up having too much to say.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did, I was the editor-in-chief for some time and was sent to a short journalism experience in London during senior year
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A story featured in my Lonely Planet's Campania book titled "Meet The Neapolitans."
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write as much as you can! Write constantly, wherever you are. Even if something sounds silly, annotate it on your phone and save it for later
When's the best time to pitch you?
Right now! Don't ever postpone a pitch.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Reading a book.
