What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means to be someone who is curious about the world. Who wants to ask questions, stay skeptical, and be passionate about writing.

Simply ask me forwardly, with a clear idea of what you want.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist so I could question and navigate the world through my writing and present my findings to a larger audience.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm most proud of my story 'Chicago Unveils Its First Fashion Week' where I explored the first CFW and attended a fashion show to cover it.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Always.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

An NWN staff writer asked if they could do a story reviewing haunted houses in my section. I said yes, of course.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

A social media takeover to promote a school play which never ended up happening.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

In my bed, writing not on a computer, but in a notebook.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Vogue and W Magazine.
