Industry Trends | October 09, 2026 Storage teams building for AI are not short of ways to make data move faster. The question they are increasingly asked is a different one, which is whether the data behind training, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and inference will still be reachable and intact when a node fails, a rebuild drags on, an agent misbehaves, or someone captures traffic they should not have.

F5 ADSP | April 13, 2026 AI workloads do not fail only when models underperform. They fail when the data path cannot keep up. As enterprises scale model training, fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), the movement of data between storage and compute has become a critical performance constraint. When network latency and jitter disrupt object storage throughput, model pipelines slow, GPUs sit idle, and infrastructure costs rise.
