Campus Reform started me out. I am still with them as of 2026!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Only as a toy when I was visiting my friend's house as a child. I should really get one of those. I have a Kodak Brownie 2a camera, though!
How is social media changing news?
Social media is changing news by getting around the middleman.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Peter Parker always seems to have the scoop. Clark Kent is the best, but he is less relatable than Peter.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist is to spread the truth.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I love to work on assignments. I like getting one or two links and letting me run with it from there.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Otter.AI is excellent for conducting interviews. ChatGPT is great for editing AP style. Don't let ChatGPT touch your work directly.
What's your favorite social network?
I like niche image boards. I believe people should be able to post anonymously.
Who do you wish followed you?
Donald Trump is the GOAT of my lifetime.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I have a strong passion for spreading the truth. I saw dwindling trust in society. I can help fix that.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked for Campus Reform in college. I don't think Merritt Island High School had a newspaper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I covered recovery efforts on the Indian River Lagoon. I got to speak with prominent scientists, ecologists and locals. I served my home.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Follow your dreams. Do not give up. Do not worry about finances; with hard work, it will all work itself out. Leverage technology strongly!

What's the best pitch you ever got?
I was pitched an article once by Campus Reform about how UF struck down the name of the "Karl Marx Study Room!" That's comedy gold!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Covering a story where my only source insisted on remaining anonymous. That kills my credibility. I really dislike that.
What's your favorite drink?
Red Bull is like ambrosia for me.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
When I am not at my computer, I am probably in the gym. Otherwise, I am out with my friends and loved ones!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I like to read Fox News, Newsmax and Campus Reform!
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I cover the facts and only the facts. That's what matters to me.
