Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

Unpaid volunteer writer for Make The Road New York's Word on The Street youth paper. Ironically enough, I'm writing similar stories now.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

I feel like everyone discounts Morbo The Annihilator form Futurama, they were incredibly passionate about the work they were doing.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means you're blunt, you're a trusted individual that people come to for information

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

A lot of google tools, Drive, Calendar, Meet. It's important for me to organize my work. Adobe tools for video and Audio Editing too.

Why did you become a journalist?

I knew there was a need for journalists of differing perspectives, and I wanted to get my voice heard.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Early mornings to mid afternoons are best.

What's your favorite drink?

My go to is a jack and coke but nothing beats a ginger mule on a summer day

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Out for a walk or cooking a new recipe.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That this isn't "real journalism". Culture has large implications on the world and ignoring it has consequences.
